The Street Maintenance division of Public Works is a service-oriented division tasked with the responsibility of repairing, maintaining, and upgrading public infrastructure and equipment. The Town of Dillon has close to 22 lane miles of roadway, 3.5 miles of bike path, 22 parking lots, and over 50 vehicles/pieces of equipment utilized by five separate departments. Our goal is to provide to the public safe, well maintained streets, lots, and equipment. The maintenance division is a diverse and talented group of people with skills and certification in equipment operation and repair, road construction and repair, and also utility installation and repair. Responsibilities include:
- Street, parking lot, sidewalk and recreational path repairs and maintenance
- Sign repair and maintenance
- Striping
- Sweeping
- Dust control
- Concrete repair
- Drainage repair and maintenance
- Street and parking lot light repair and maintenance
- Snow and ice control
- Vehicle maintenance and repair
- Utility repair, maintenance and installation
Winter Operations: During the winter, Street Maintenance is on the job 24 hours per day ensuring that all roadways, recreational paths, sidewalks and lots are plowed, sanded and safe. Street Maintenance utilizes a variety of equipment and products including sand, salt sand, pea gravel, and liquid de-icer. Daily operations include clearing/sanding, de-icing, crowding/push back, hauling to storage sites, and drainage maintenance and clearing.
Dillon Snow Storage Area: The Town of Dillon provides a large snow storage area west of the Dillon cemetery which is available for use by Dillon residents and business owners for storing their snow offsite. This facility is only for use for properties within the Town Limits. In order to use the snow storage facility users must enter into a Snow Storage Agreement with the Town and pay the applicable fee for each load of snow hauled to the facility.

Summer Operations: (picture) The main focus in the summer is street repair and maintenance, parking lot repair and maintenance, recreational path maintenance, special events staffing, and capital projects.
