The Dillon Cemetery is an important asset to the community that utilizes the cemetery as a window to the past, a pleasurable landscape of solitude and reflection, or a final resting place.
The Dillon Cemetery located in Dillon, Colorado was established in 1885 and moved from the Old Town of Dillon (which is now under the Dillon Reservoir) to its current location in 1962. For your convenience, an underground water tank has been installed near the entrance of the cemetery for watering plants and trees that may be need a little extra tender, loving care.
The Parks, Recreation, Arts & Cemetery Advisory Committee is in the process of fundraising for unmarked gravesites. We have raised enough money to install over 100 headstones, with approximately 25 remaining to be purchased.

In order to purchase a space, please follow the steps listed below:
- Email the Town Clerk to schedule a time to view the master cemetery map.
- Make a choice about your desired space(s) or general area. It is often helpful to have more than one area/space in mind in case your desired location is already sold.
- Once a few plots have been selected schedule a meeting with the Town Clerk at the cemetery where they will have the plots steaked out.
- Select your plot.
- Purchase the space. This purchase can be made in person at Dillon Town Hall or over the phone using a credit card. Upon purchase, you will be issued a certificate of ownership.
Burial of Caskets and Cremains:
- When preparing for a casket or cremains burial please contact the Town Clerk to coordinate the opening and closing of the grave site.
- Make sure you have filled out and turned in Interment forms.
Placement of Headstones/Memorials (after a burial):
- Fill out the Plot Improvement form and return it to the Town Clerk.
- Once approved coordinate with the monument company for installation of the monument.
