The Town of Dillon is aware of a known issue with GovOS pending STR returns after filing your return. Please email str@townofdillon.com with your license number and payment confirmation number if you experience this issue. We appreciate your patience while this is being fixed.

The Town of Dillon implemented an ordinance (Ordinance 09-18) specifically regulating Short-Term Rentals (STRs), which was amended (Ordinance 01-22) and approved by Town council on March 1, 2022. Town Council discussed short-term rentals at several work sessions from September 2021 through February 2022. Ordinance 09-18 was approved by Council on December 4, 2018 and became effective January 1, 2019.

If you are renting your residence or part of your residence for a period of less than 30 consecutive days, you are operating a short-term rental.
Occupancy is limited to 2 guests per bedroom plus an additional 2 guests per property.
All advertising must include the occupancy for the property and short term rental license number.
Short-term rental licenses are non-transferable.
All short-term rental licenses expire on May 31st each year. The short-term rental license fee is $700 regardless of when the license is obtained. No refund shall be made to any person who discontinues business during the taxable year.
Current short-term rental license holders will have until June 30, 2023 to complete the renewal process.

Short Term Rental Renewals

Short-term rentals expire on May 31st each year. To renew your license, please fill out the renewal form through MuniRevs and remit $700 for the renewal fee. Please note that STR license fees have changed to a flat rate fee of $700 annually and that parking requirements and fees are being discontinued.

Per Ord 02-23 of the Town Code,

STRs are NOT auto renewed. The renewal application will be added to accounts on May 1, 2024.

Effective June 1^st, 2023, there will be no parking permits for STR guests. Only 2 types of parking permits will be offered through Interstate; Residential and Commercial. STR guests will be subject to overnight parking rates if they park in overnight town lots. Parking Information
All renewal applications must be submitted prior to 6/1/24 to be eligible for review. Late fees will be assessed beginning 6/1/24. Renewals that are not completed by 7/1/24 will not be eligible to be renewed and will need to cease STR operations immediately.
If your application for renewal has not been approved after 5/31/2024, you may continue to operate your short-term rental unless otherwise notified by the town. We are quickly processing applications in the order that they were received. Your application is in good standing if all tasks have been completed and payment has been remitted. Once approved, you will be notified by Munirevs.

Process STR license applications

The property owner must be a user on the account for us to approve the application

Application for Short Term Rental License -
The application does require a floor plan be provided. View a sample HERE. Please ensure the floor plan provided includes the following:
- The property address
- Fire extinguisher(s) location(s)
- Smoke detector(s) location(s)
- Carbon monoxide detector(s) location(s)
- Electrical circuit breaker box location(s)
- An egress (exit) plan should be provided:
  - Windows should be displayed on the floor plan. Windows are a potential escape route and can assist in directing guest(s) within a property.
  - For multiple story properties a floor plan for each floor should be provided.
- First aid kits and flashlights should be available to guests in a property
The purpose of the floor plan is to have it posted in the short-term rental property for quick reference by guests. The floor plan and egress plan should be similar to those posted in hotel rooms, doctor offices, etc. Guests don’t know these basic aspects of a place they are staying, and for safety purposes, this information needs to be at their fingertips. The purpose of requesting the floor plan and egress plan is for life-safety purposes.
