Qualifications for Office

All candidates, when nominated:

  1. must be at least eighteen years of age
  2. must be a resident of Dillon for twelve consecutive months preceding the date of the election
  3. must be a registered voter
  4. have not been convicted of embezzlement, bribery, perjury, solicitation of bribery, or subornation of perjury

Election Precinct and Petitions

There is only one election precinct for all regular and special elections of the Town. In order to be valid, a petition must contain a minimum of twenty-five (25) signatures from registered voters residing in Dillon. This excludes unincorporated areas of Dillon Valley, Summerwood, Summit Cove and Keystone.  A registered elector shall not sign more than one (1) nomination petition for a Mayoral Candidate and shall not sign more then three (3) nomination petitions for Town Council candidates.  

Town Council Meetings & Agendas

Town Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Dillon Town Hall, 275 Lake Dillon Drive.  Town Council work sessions are held prior to the council meetings, typically beginning at 4:30 p.m. Additional meetings or appointments to boards will be scheduled outside the regular Town Council Meetings.

Dillon electors may also register to vote or change voter information at the Summit County Clerk and Recorder’s office, located at 208 East Lincoln Avenue in Breckenridge.  For further information, contact the Summit County Elections Deputy at (970) 453-3479.
